Grace Note for January 17, 2016

There was a man once who wanted peace in the world and peace in his heart, but he was very frustrated. The world seemed to be falling apart and his personal life wasn't that great either. One day he went shopping, and when he walked in to the store, he was surprised to see Jesus behind the counter. He knew it was Jesus because he looked just like the paintings he'd seen. The man asked, “Excuse me, but are you Jesus?” “I am. I own this store.” “Oh, what do you sell here?” “Just about everything,” Jesus replied. “Look around, make a list, and then come back and I'll see what I can do for you.”

Well, he did just that. He walked up and down the aisles, making a list. By the time he got back to the counter, he had a long list. Jesus looked over the list, then smiled at him and said, “No problem.” And then Jesus handed him some packets. “What are these?” the man asked. “Seed packets,” Jesus answered. “You mean I don't get the finished product?” “No,” replied Jesus, “you come and see what you desire, and I give you the seeds. You plant the seeds, water them and nurture them and help them to grow, and someday someone else reaps the benefits.” “Oh,” the man said. And he left the store without buying anything.
