We are called as Christians to be the ‘Hands and Feet’ of Jesus. God has blessed our church in so many ways, and we are thankful to be able to extend these blessings to our local community through various programs.
Years ago, we saw a need right here in our own community. Unfortunate circumstances would make it difficult for families to afford groceries at times, but help for them was limited. Benton First then decided it was time to step in and provide help to these families through our “Helping Hands” food pantry. Every Tuesday, through the help of gracious volunteers, our Helping Hands Food Pantry is open to the community from 4-6 PM. Part of this outreach to the community is to provide a weeks worth of groceries to those who need assistance. Our volunteers shop for food, stock our shelves, interview those who come, fill orders and share God’s love in abundance. This is a vital ministry in the life of our church and is supported by the community at Benton First. If you would like more information about our Food Pantry, or would like to volunteer to help in this mission, contact the church office at 270-527-3990 for more information.
