Sacred Steps 5K run/walk with 1 mile fun run/walk is a ministry of Benton First UMC dedicated to making a difference in our community and world. Starting in 2012 as a women's event,Sacred Steps has given donations from all proceeds to The Marshall County Safe Home, House of Hope in Puerto Lempira Honduras, and to our UMC Mission Trip to Nicaragua.
Proceeds from this event will be given to the American Cancer Society and since cancer does not discriminate between males & females, this year Sacred Steps is pleased to be open to men & women. The more runners on the ground, the stronger we are in the fight against cancer.
All of us have been touched by cancer personally, in our families, or walking beside a friend going through diagnosis and treatment. The American Cancer Society provides research grants, rides to treatment for patients, wigs, mastectomy products, support, and education. Our congregation is filled with survivors, caregivers, and family members of those who have fought the battle and we are committed to honor them by supporting the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Marshall County.
